What
is your focus?
As you take a truthful moment to look at the past couple of weeks…what do you see…think
about it…what do you see?
Do
you see the hardships? Challenges? Anxiety brought on by your circumstances? Or, can you see how an AWESOME GOD
delivered you out of all these situations or is currently delivering you from these hardships, challenges and anxiety and
they have truly become your greatest blessing for growth, spiritual maturity and hope?
For the Christian, EVERY situation in our life is to help us grow and
learn in some way… Jesus said in Luke 2, that He was about the Father’s business, meaning His focus was fulfilling
the will of God in His life because that was the most effective, productive and God-honoring way to live. We know He had many
hardships beyond what we can even comprehend, but it says in Hebrews 4:15-16
“For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses,
but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let
us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
It is the same for the true Christian today.
Our focus should be the same as Jesus; ‘about the Father’s business’… living and
accomplishing in His strength, power and wisdom His plan and purpose for our lives to bring honor and glory to Him alone and
be a source of encouragement to someone else.
Always remember, Jesus came to die
so you can have an opportunity to truly live a life of purpose with joy. He LOVES you so much that He not
only gave His life for you, but offers a life of abundance in every aspect. We can only live this kind of life when we
receive Him as Personal Savior. Only then will we be able to see beyond what the human eye can see.
Think again about your life…
Do you complain more than you praise?
Do you find yourself ungrateful more than grateful?
Do you see what you don’t have instead
seeing you have enough for today?
Do
you see only the hardship instead of the blessing and growth it may add to your life?
If you find yourself focusing in this manner I encourage you to study
and meditate on the following:
Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!
Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is
at hand.
Be anxious for nothing,
but in everything by prayer and supplication, with
thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God,
which
surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through
Christ
Jesus.
Philippians
4:4-7
God bless you abundantly as you
seek to know God and follow in His ways alone and realize
you have everything you need to live a life of full victory with joy and gratitude.
